I flipped on Oprah today and I got so into the show. (I watch very little tv by the way…) the tv we turn on is usually for an occasional cartoon for my daughter to relax her a little. Anyway, it was Food 101 with Michael Pollan and Alicia Silverstone was on. While I am completely absorbed in Oprah’s awesomeness and into the show so much – especially since my diet change to almost a Vegan is very new. My daughter Gabriella comes running into the living room – all upset at me and ordering me to turn her cartoon on. I said NO that mommy wants to watch her show now and that the tv isn’t only hers. She had a fit. Disturbing my viewing. Things calmed down a bit – SO I THOUGHT – and she laid on the sofa next to me, her face down on my thighs. Not so bad, I thought – all of a sudden – AAAAHHHHHH – SHE BIT ME IN THE LEG! Hard tearing the skin off! (This never happened before by the way). HOW TO HANDLE THIS NOW??? I directly confronted her, what did you do? you hurt mommy? I show her the reddish/ purple boo boo. She didn’t apologize, it was punishment time. I dragged her to her room, closed the door. She cried so hard. I opened the door, she still didn’t apologize but she hugged me. I told her I LOVE HER and I know she loves me but you can’t hurt mommy or anyone else. Things got a little more peaceful – and I thought it was still fitting for ME to get back to the tv at this point – Oprah was waiting ;P
She still asked for the cartoon but I said NOT TODAY! Thankfully daddy walked in and took over matters between us. I hear “I’M SORRY” and we hugged some more. (Later she brought this to make the hurt go away.)
What an episode that was… Although the DRAMA was probably just in my house ;P lol. So back to the show. Alicia has this new book called The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet.
I agree with her so much! I love this book – I have to get it. Check out her great blog called The Kind Life. Going through her blog I found this recipe – look at the colour in this:
