I am so excited today because it’s the release date of my book Cut the Sugar!
This is a dream come true that I never thought was possible just a few years ago when I was so sick I could barely walk or even eat! THANK YOU ALL for your support – I am so grateful for this community of encouraging and inspiring people, and for everyone who is ready to look at food as nourishing and delicious medicine!!
Join the celebrating of cutting out sugar and share your photos of how you eat #sugarfree #lowsugar or#refinedsugarfree and tag your photos #cutthesugarbook and I will repost my favourites!
My approach to cutting back is not sugar detoxing necessarily but to be mindful of how much and what type of sugar you consume – and making healthier choices so you don’t feel deprived! I’m so excited that the book is finally here for you all to enjoy!! MUCH LOVE, ella!
ps. The link to order on Amazon is here AND starting today you can check your local retailer for a copy! (In US and Canada at this time!)
pps. the way we cut sugar here is that I’m drinking unsweetened green tea and little Mia is eating organic wild blueberries!

I have a question about “sugar detoxes”. When people say they are eliminating sugar from their diet, what does that mean exactly? To me, “sugars” are any chemicals ending in -ose, including fructose, lactose, glucose, etc. Eliminating all dairy, fruit, and carbs seems very difficult to do, especially since the body is designed to convert food into glucose for energy. Can you please clarify what you mean by “cutting the sugar”? Thanks!

What a great question Alix :)
One thing that Cut the Sugar is not is a sugar-detox book! So I think you’ll be happy to hear it’s not about eliminating all sugars.
You’re right we need sugar as an energy source and sugar cravings are completely natural – just not all sugars are created equal!! :)
My approach is to use all-natural sources (organic whenever possible) and just being mindful of the amount of natural sugars that are eaten at a given time.
So the book is free of refined sugars and uses healthier sweeteners as well as zero-calorie sweeteners like Stevia. But it’s not just desserts – I cover breakfast, lunch, soups & salads, dinner, drinks as well as desserts :)
I hope this helps you understand the approach better and you’ll be able to enjoy this book soon :)
*hugs* ella
