somewhere over the rainbow

November 24, 2011 by Ella

Hello my friends ;) I’m wrapped up in melancholy this morning…. something to do with the grey skies, low energy – even après un espresso –   and missing my sister who is now on the other side of the world living amongst kangaroos and koalas…. but feeling that dreams really do come true – as she, my baby sister, just announced that she’s coming home for Christmas ;)

I hope you like this poster I designed and will now enjoy this song with me: “Somewhere over the Rainbow” the very original sung by a man with a surprisingly angelic voice Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
And the dreams that you dream of
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dream of,
Dreams really do come true

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dare to
Oh why, oh why can’t I

Well I see trees of green and red roses too
I watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the bright bliss of day I like the dark
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I, I love you

I hear babies cry and I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than we’ll know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dare to,
Why, oh why can’t I

………………..

I think this is probably the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard….
Thanks baby sis for this song and for coming home soon ;)

I hope you’re having a wonderful day… dreamin’ somewhere over the rainbow….
and I’d like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends.

yay! So happy you’ll have your sister home for Christmas. My brother in law lived in Australia for a few years, and it was wonderful when he and his family could make it back in time for a dinner feast and to open gifts!
