photo cards with candy cane hearts

December 22, 2011 by Ella

Happy Holidays to you my sweet friends!

Christmas is almost here! Oh my, how did that time fly? ;) I hope you’re enjoying this time of the year and are ready for a beautiful weekend ahead hopefully filled with love, kisses, and sweets….

It’s actually the Love and Sweets that’s the inspiration for my tutorial today. I’ve created these little special Candy Cane Photo Cards for my daughter to give as little gifts to her classmates and teachers. And I’ve created a tutorial along the way to show you how to do these too ;)

It’s quite easy and quick to pull off still in time for your friends and family. Especially if it’s a smaller quantity – and not the 25 cards I’ve managed to do last night ;) Ohh now I do wish I showed you this tutorial way before so you’d have lots of time to make these, but for now I work with last-minute need-by-the-morning scheduling. If it’s too late, make sure you bookmark this page for next year! For now here’s what to do to make these lovely cand

Supplies Needed: printed photos, candy canes, exacto knife, twist ties

Directions: 1-2. Prep the candy cane heart by taping the two candy canes together. Prep your photos with the proportions matching the size of the candy cane heart. 3. Add slits with the knife to the area you want to fasten the candy cane hearts to. 4. Fasten the twist ties to secure the hearts in place. 5-6. Keep going until the last heart is in the arms of love ;)

* a big thank you to my little sister for taping the hearts together *

All are done! Time to give ;)

Having just picked my daughter up already after her X-Mas party at Kindergarten ~ I have to say, at first glance the teachers smiled and loved them! It was one of my best projects I’ve ever done ~ now I don’t think I can stop there. There’s still my sisters and grandma and grandpa and our friends…. I think I need to put my elf hat back on ;)

I hope you’re having a wonderful Holiday Season! Sending big warm Christmasy hugs your way ;) xo Ella
