Hello my friends! TGIF ~ am I the only one feeling this? It’s been a busy week for us with 3 days of no kindergarten for my little girl (2 from surgery and today a no-school day). It was also a true test of the fun we can come up with for indoor activities, as it was the first really cold week that blew strong cold winds and pinched our faces with frost. And yesterday we got our first snow fall! (but nothing stayed on the ground to actually play with the snow ;)
No one’s complaining – inside our warm cozy home we made cookies, did puzzles, read books (from this stash), (hugged lots (because of the surgery), ate lots of soup, drank lots of tea, made hot cocoa with marshmallows…. and in between all of that fun we went to see a theatrical performance ;)
I got together with a friend and our daughters and went out to see a sweet performance of Snow White at the local theatre. My girl had such a great time ~ this left amazing memories and it was really lovely to watch her enjoying the show.
I was really happy with the whole experience myslef – I think it’s always nice to support the small productions. It’s way less expensive than the big productions. (Hello? shows can run you into a few hundred dollars if the whole family wants to go). And I don’t think kids really can tell the difference. Keep your eyes open for small community theatres or high school plays (that would be appropriate for young kids). We were very happy and we hope to make this an annual event for us ;) I will be on the lookout for Christmas events and all sorts of fun things for kids to do around the Holiday and Winter season here too.
By the way, if you are local to the GTA area, don’t forget to sign up to the Sherway Garden’s Santa Experience – that is a terrific event with songs and stories from a very good looking Santa and there’s even picture time included if you bring your own camera. All this for $5 a kid!
How about you? What was your highlight this week?
Please link up one of your blog posts from this week with the linky tool below or just add in the comments below. (If you do share in the comments, I will pick one highlight to feature next week;)
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

My highlight of the week wasn’t anything I did, but rather what I reminded myself of – to breathe! To enjoy the holidays with those I love rather than stress about expectations, others or my own.
Looks like you had fun at the play! Hope the recovery is going well!

Thanks Sydney. Yes just enjoy your weekend – stressing can ruin a fun day ;) Enjoy your early Thanksgiving ;) xo
