butterfly birthday

September 21, 2010 by Ella

right now i am smiling… thinking about my milestone birthday, looking through our photos of our celebrating… I AM HAPPY.

My-BDay butterfly birthday party

over the last years, i have developed into a metaphorical red butterfly… why? i have taken on a new shape filled with a new life inside and outside of me. i feel as though i reincarnated from a crawling weak stage of my life into a strong, beautiful (oh why not ;), energetic and free spirited person. and the red is for my energy and my fire that continues to dance within me.

My-BDay4 red butterfly birthday party

oh the day was filled with spectacular wonders and fantasy filled children’s musings. where do i begin… there was face painting, and balloon artist, and fun (add the proper name for those walking sticks), jumping castles (not pictured), decorate your own butterfly (that the kids never got to decorate – instead they just took them home)… too much seriously – that some activities never even got accomplished.My-BDay-3 red butterfly birthday

ok, here’s some truth to these activities – as you’ve figured – why would she order a live band? the truth is, in this park, there is an annual picnic run by the local church that invites everyone to partake in the activities. oh boy! PERFECT TIMING! ;DMy-BDay3 red butterfly birthday party

so we had some ‘normal’ party food – like pizza and macaroni and potato salads. but i also made sure we had some alternative dishes on hand – 1. so i can eat, 2. so that my guests could see that eating vegan, gluten free ain’t all bad ;) i even put an extra effort on the cake and made this amazingly delicious CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE. i think all the guests were completely surprised about the recipe that it’s flour-less and dairy and egg free. (‘ale bez jaj’ – little inside joke ;)

ahh…. what a great day. i even got a little crazy running around with my new MACRO LENS. thanks honey ;D (more of my new macro creations soon)

So that’s it! 30 is here and it’s not going anywhere and THAT’S OK. I feel great and I am happy with my red butterfly me ;)

Here’s a thought for the day, what metaphorical creature do you see yourself as?

    Happy Birthday.

hmmm – not sure…usually I’ve identified with a tiger (even thought of getting a tiger tattoo). one of my uncles nicknamed me that as an infant, bought me a tiger stuffed doll and seat. still working on standing up for myself like I think tigers do :)
