Hello my lovelies! It’s another Monday – but such a beautiful one with lots of sunshine coming up through the leaves already. Did you have a great weekend? We had a great one that I spent mostly with my girl (dad got tied up).
On Saturday, we were leaving my sister’s place where we came upon a wedding. Don’t you love seeing the bride leaving for the ceremony? We stood and gasped. Miss Gabi talked about her getting married one day and wearing a beautiful white dress as well…. cute! One of the ladies from the bridal party turned around, smiled and handed her this beautiful bouquet of helium balloons. We were both happy!
Gabi was happy like any kid to hold balloons. I was happy because the ”photoshoot alert’ came on in my head. Boy did we have fun getting all dressed up and running around this field with this old shed, just a short drive from our house.
After that, she kept the outfit on for the rest of the evening. I was a great day. We also stopped at our favourite store, grabbed some sushi for dinner, and then headed to a street party right in the neighbourhood. It was hard to leave the party but eventually we dragged our butts home to call it a night – or I should say that one butt was dragging the other. It was crazy fun. My daughter was already dressed for it ;) Music was blasting, kids were playing and dancing, and parents ditched all good night-time routines ;)
Sunday, we hung out some more and went on a little trip to Oakville. Strolled the beautiful Lakeshore strip, had dessert (well Gabi did) in the sun and went to look at the lighthouse. (I wished Nzyme was open till late – because I was craving their amazing desserts ;) On our way home we pulled into an organic store and I got the best vegan cheesecake in the world. I needed that. And knew I was too lazy to bake myself. I’ve now added a few pics ;)
I suppose Father’s Day got a little delayed as my husband had a friend from Europe and had to entertain him by having another steak and beer. I’m sure he didn’t complain ;) And some of you may know that my dad died when I was little – so there wasn’t much celebrating. Maybe next weekend we can make up for it and even throw in some anniversary celebrating into it too ;0
How was your weekend? I would love to hear about it. Leave a link if you’ve written about it ;D

Wow! Sounds like you had an amazing weekend! We didn’t celebrate much either, as I haven’t seen my dad since I was 4 and hubby is away at work for another day. Saturday, we spent some time with uncles, aunties and cousins in the city for a bit and ate out. The kids were so happy to see their cousins, they just love them! And Sunday I started the morning with a nice cup of coffee and a new book I bought (Growing up sew liberated). The rest of the day was a clean-the-house-in-my-pj’s kind of day, with lots of music. All in all, it was a nice weekend.
P.S. The pictures are absolutely adorable!

These holidays aren’t always for everyone, I suppose.
Sounds like you still had lots of fun. And I just do love loud music – it just makes my day even if it is cleaning up ;)

We get a lot of humidity too – so I’m sure I’ll get complaining eventually ;)

I love those balloon pictures! And what a fun story to go with them…
On Saturday we went to two free events! At the first we got hotdogs, corn, popcorn and watermelon and at the second we got cotton candy and bubble gum — all free! The second event had games that the kids could play and goody bags full of prizes for them afterwards! We decided that was “Father’s Day” since the next day my husband wasn’t doing as well.
