Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week my friends, and are looking forward to the weekend ;)
We did random things around the house this week ~ no big highlights really ;) Sometimes, uneventful days are good days. We did however get a taste of the real winter this week. Once it started to snow ~ and my dear Gabi did not want to miss a snowflake ~ it’s been a wintery scene since. I never cared much for winter (more of a spring/summer girl), but kids do make the grumpy grownups enjoy this season a bit more ~ and I’m very thankful for that. (although you may still find me daydreamin’ of days sipping on tangerine juice with Nicky – yes, from fresh tangerines straight from her backyard! ;)
Back to -15. We enjoyed a few walks outdoors with many snow angels to mark our territory, some snow-shovelling contest and a few snow ball fights. It seems like the fun is just beginning. I better join in the fun and enjoy this wintery scene and look for some exported exotic tangerines on my next grocery store visit ~ then just close my eyes and sip away in my bikini! ;)
This weekend, we’re planning to go ice skating with the kiddo. (I’ll enjoy the side bench with some hot tea and my camera ~ with my sad MG legs, ice skating is pretty much crossed off the list.)
And sorry about these rustic photos – they are from my cell phone, but there’s something about them that I really love ;) Just a little reminder that sometimes it’s not about the quality of your gadgets, but looking for that interest in composition. Find different angles, either step back and bend down low to fill the shot with tall trees, or shoot from way up high to get cool bird’s eye view shots ;)
What were you up to this week?
Any fun plans for the weekend?
Have a safe and happy weekend! xo Ella
ps. thanks for the shout-out today Nicky ;)

That last photo is really stunning…looks like she is heading off into a magical adventure.
I’d be sitting out on ice skating too. The last time I went, I fell and ripped a hole through my pants AND undies!

LOL oh my God!!! Clair, you’re hilarious ~ sorry, can I have a little chuckle at this? So, I’m not missing much, you say? ;D ha ha

I love that catching a snowflake on the tongue picture! My kids do that too ;)
I am mostly planning on staying home this weekend, do a winter craft with the kids, work on a recipe and catch up on finishing some started items for the shop. I am really looking forward to all of it, I am needing a nice day at home in my pj’s :)
Have a great weekend!

Thanks Stephanie ;)
I’m pulling out some crafting supplies right now ~ I love those cozy days ;)

snow angels!! I was too excited for our three-hour showing of snow here, that I forgot about snow angels. My bad.
these photos are gorgeous, and capture everything I love about winter…except hot coco.
wishing you a joy-filled weekend!

funny, I was thinking your photos your beautiful as always.
We’re having hat kind of weekend now, nothing much goin’ on, LOTS of outside snow play. And it’s so true, that kids make winter fun for grump adults. But those kids don’t have to shovel their car out at 5:30 am, damnit! ;)
Your new (to me) header is fantastic…I really like the feel of it

Ice skating, skiing, anything like that, is totally off my list, too. I’ve broken a leg three times and an arm twice, not to mention numerous toes and ribs, so yeah, hot chocolate all the way.

Those are great camera phone shots. I’m glad you got to get out and enjoy the cold & snow. Its been chilly and dreary here, just slightly not cold enough for snow though, so we’ve been indoors quite a bit. My kids are ready to be out, and I am too. :) Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
