sharing some love

February 10, 2011 by Ella

February 14th is just around the corner!  Are you celebrating with your love by going out or staying in? Do you romance it up a bit? I am a little curious…. this is the time we really get to know one another. lol. We are not the romantic type (well we were but maybe 10 years ago ;D) Now I think it’s fun to show a little more love between the 3 of us, as a family. When you have a little kid (or kids) around, it’s fun to make things and get them excited about the magic of Valentine’s Day – family style ;)

So here are a few cute craft ideas that inspire me right now. I still hope to decorate the house a bit more for the weekend possibly with some of these ideas…

These are lovely. Sam loves hearts but he doesn’t know what Valentines is yet. I think he will soon though! x p.s, yes I think the last time I got anything from my husband for valentines was about 10 yrs ago. But at least we can pass it on to the littles ones.

I agree with you, it used to be romantic 10 years ago for us too. But now with my hubby working away and not being home most years for Valentines and 2 kids later, I make it a family thing. I love to surprise my kiddo’s with a valentine’s surprise in the morning, though I’m not sure what it’s going to be this time around (I better get on that soon!).

This year, the kids and I made a watercolor heart garland and they were involved in every step of the craft. I think it’s my personal favourite craft we’ve ever made and I think I will leave it up forever. It’s just too beautiful (and not too “Valentiny”) to put away. Yes a Valentine’s breakfast is the way to go. We will probably do that too with pancakes or waffles ;) I’m sure your hubby will make up with the romance once he gets back. If I were any closer, I’d babysit so the two of you would go out for dinner. lol.
PS. That heart garland is sooo adorable.

I’m with you on the romance thing. We make valentine’s a family affair too.
