Quebec City

Quebec-City2

We had a lovely little getaway to the beautiful Quebec City where… La vie est belle. (life is beautiful ;) The weather was warm enough for a light fall wardrobe but cool and chilly in the evenings to add an extra sweater.

The sightseeing was beautiful and adventurous.

Can you believe all these stereotypical foods??? Well here’s some truth: when he had the french onion soup – I had the minestrone, when he had the poutine – I had a salad, he tried all the sweets, and my cafe au lait was with soy milk ;)  I’ve learned a lot to be OK with avoiding certain foods – – but you could just imagine my JOY when we found this amazing vegetarian buffet restaurant: at $12.95 per LOADED plate! (I will go back to QC just to eat there again.Quebec-City9Yes, I stuck to my diet even on a vacation! It was the first time, I was out of my comfort zone and looked for foods I could eat. It wasn’t bad at all. OK so I had a bit of a croissant – how could you not when you’re surrounded by FRENCH cafes everywhere ;)

I loved this place so much, the first time we went was probably 10 years ago and it was with my family. So when the opportunity came up again – I said Oui Oui!!! There’s something magical in Quebec City, it’s like you’re seriously in France. We had a great time just strolling the streets, filled with shops, cafes, artists and street musicians, all in the vibe and sound au français…. C’est beau!
