It’s been a while since I’ve posted a ‘happiness list’ and I’m excited to share a few of our personal things that have recently happened…
Fall is a beautiful time here and we we’re lucky to have Thanksgiving at the beginning of October – just when the weather is amazing and it’s harvest season so it’s great to cook with the seasonal local delicious foods.
This year it was especially amazing because we were invited to an gorgeous cottage in Mont Tremblant, Quebec to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her new fiancé. (They got engaged that Thanksgiving Monday!!) Everything about this trip was so amazing + I will have a new brother!! I could not be happier :)
We went off on a road trip which took 2 hours longer than expected (because long weekend!) ughhh… but once we arrived late on Friday (or I should say early Saturday) we woke up to great weekend!
We relaxed and took in the serene scenery at the cottage. I could not dream of a better place to stay. The kids loved relaxing and having fun with my sister and their new soon-to-be uncle. In the evenings we played Charades – my first time playing (I’ve been living under a rock, I know!) :)
Grabbing a blanket and a cup of tea and hitting the dock for a peaceful morning has been so lovely. I miss these mornings and little moments when I could escape for a little me-time or for a little romantic (much-needed) cuddle with the Mr.
We waited for the warmest day to check out The Village in Mont Tremblant and it was so lovely. So fun and relaxing at the same time. The weather was especially lovely and we did not want to leave. Near the end of the day we definitely wanted to move to be closer to this beautiful town. (This would also mean I would be closer to my baby sister….) :)
We had the best time with great food and great company in a beautiful natural setting in a cool town – we could not have asked for anything more… So I’m really feeling so thankful for so much right now. Seeing my sister just a few times a year now makes it harder but luckily she’s just a road-trip away. And leaving home for a few days is really energizing. I came back to a nesting phase and can’t stop moving our furniture around :)
I hope you are enjoying this time of the year too. Fall is such a beautiful time and it’s nice to bundle up and go out and explore some place you’ve never seen before. I wish you all a wonderful weekend ahead!
Do reflect on your happiness too… and do share what makes you happy lately?
Big hugs, ella
