preserving summer memories

August 18, 2010 by Ella

With the days getting shorter and the evenings getting colder, I’m realizing just how quickly summer will come to an end… With these thoughts and the thoughts of our summer fun I am looking for ways to preserve and showcase our memories… Are you doing the same thing yet?

Here are some great ideas that will make your memories last forever (or at least until next summer when you’ll want to update ;)

i’m loving these jars with travel things.
(my sister already started this collection and she keeps on going,
she will soon be making one from her travelling throughout Australia :)

this cushion above is probably my favourite – i would love to make something like this

these ones will surely make you smile each time you pass them by… it’s so worth to make some memory keepsakes…

do you already make your own collections? do you just rely on the photos alone? (and are they actually printed or framed or sitting on your hard drive?) what is your favourite way to preserve memories….please do share some inspirational projects or ideas.

“Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.”
~From the television show The Wonder Years

I hope today will be happily memorable for you ;)

These are great ideas. I would love to make some collections – but there’s never enough time – so photos do the trick for now ;)

those jars look so beautiful. i think the cushion is my fave. it risks looking tacky, but with the right photos it’s lovely.
i keep thinking of doing something with our coins from our travels.

These are some great memory preservers. I’ve been meaning to just put some photo books together. This time of life is so precious.

And photo books – yes I have to catch up with that ;)

I have some seashells in jars from our vacations ;) It is cute but gets dusty – I didn’t keep the lids on the jars ;(

Laura, that’s too bad. I’m sure you can rinse and wipe your things. refresh them and maybe tie some cute nautical fabric and tie with natural fibre string – AND tie a seashell to the string for a finishing touch ;)
