playdate party

January 12, 2011 by Ella

I recently planned a playdate with my mom friends and their kids – got them to show up, with all 7 kids in between them – and we just called it a party. A playdate party celebrating WINTER. We had so much fun! Take a look…

There was food, music and my awesome friends…

There was snow inside the house. ok. it was the fake stuff… (but really cool fake stuff – non-toxic and not freezing cold, ok a little messy ;)

There was crafting of paper snowfakes (a good tutorial found here)…

So the moms thought they were in for just a coffee break while their kids entertained themselves ;) That did happen for just a bit, until I took out the scissors and got the mamas busy with activities for the kids. I think it was AWESOME FUN for the kids and the moms. Right girls?  I can’t wait for the next time we do this…. whose house is next? lol

Turn a simple playdate into a fun stress-free PLAYDATE PARTY:

  • send invitation by mail (or email is fine)
  • make or have some snacks for the parents and kids
  • make it easier and call it a potluck and get the parents to bring a dish each
  • have a few crafts planned with supplies ready for the appropriate age group
  • have someone be the photographer. you will want to capture the fun – have a camera near by ;)
  • HAVE FUN!

Love the idea of the photograph with the huge frame…and oh so large too! :) Looks like your playday party was a success.

Thanks Debbie. I finally put this frame to good use. It makes a great prop ;)
I planned on painting it and putting something in it but now I’m glad I waited and took this shot.
Or maybe I should just keep it like it is for a prop….??? ;D

Looks like it was great fun for both kids and moms. The kids did a great job with the snowflakes, they look great! Can I come too next time? ;)

Like your new look! And the playdate sounds awesome! I love that you had a crafts for the kids. My playdate group is regularly chaotic because most…or maybe all of the kids are under 4! Maybe in a few years this will be what it looks like!
