Hello my friends! Did you have a nice weekend? I hope so.
Ours was full of wintery fun outdoors and in. I’m finally getting used to the bitter cold and seeing the beauty and fun in it.
Outside… there was lots of snow (of course ;), frost covered branches, red cheeks and noses, laughter,
chattering teeth (that were most likely mine ;), snow sledding and remembering how much fun that is…
(realizing I need arctic tested thermal gloves as I couldn’t feel my fingers at all),
watching red cardinals against the beautiful black and white contrast of snow covered branches…
Inside… there was lots of giggling under blankets,
hot chocolate with marshmellows
with fresh home baked cookies,
a little crafting to caribbean beats…
hanging out with family with a little crawler peeking here and there….
watched After Life with Christina Ricci – (what an awesome movie)
and totally missing the Golden Globes because I drifted off to slumber with my daughter in her toddler bed…
(I have caught up with the highlights and I am so excited for Natalie Portman for Black Swan – that movie is my current favourite and she was a masterpiece in it ;)
So it was a lot about doing nothing at all – and I think we did it pretty well ;)
How was your weekend?
.
PS. Today apparently, is the official Blue Monday – the most depressing day of the year. How are you holding up? Did those winter blues finally get to you?
Would you believe there is actually a scientific formula for this day ;) Which means:
weather=W, debt=d, time since Christmas=T, time since failing our new year’s resolutions=Q, low motivational levels=M and the feeling of a need to take action=Na ~ funny ha!
Later this week, I will have some ideas how to beat those wintery blues ;)
Stay warm and Happy!

That weekend sounds wonderful. We put up a new bird feeder and played in snow tunnels. I think today calls for some peaceful game playing, reading about Dr. Kind and some baking!
Peace, Angela
PS I totally missed the Globes and Black Swan. I forgot they were on. I watched Downtown Abbey instead.

Sounds great Angela. We still need to get a cute bird feeder – although our neighbour’s tree overhangs close to our kitchen window and they have a bird feeder always freshly filled – so there’s lots of bird watching right from our window ;) Have a great week!

Looks like a had a busy and fun weekend! We had a super busy weekend, but we were barely home and I now need today to catch up on house cleaning and rest, lol. Where do these weekends go?
I’m curious, what was the Caribbean inspired craft? It looks interesting.

I’m glad that peeked your interest. It’s really fun and the supplies come free with a food product we used for baking cookies ;) I will keep you guessing until I post it all this week ;D Have a great week ahead!

That looks like a lovely weekend. We are all recovering from flu so we laid low.
It’s funny, I was feeling quite blue this morning so it’s encouraging to know that there is a scientific explanation for it. Brilliant – I feel much better now.
Happy Week!

oh, well if there’s an equation for it, it must be true! ;) too funny.
sounds like a great weekend, have a beautiful week ahead.

I am loving your blog! Great energy and beautiful layout! I hadn’t heard of Blue Monday… I am glad I’m not too affected by the winter greyness over here, we won’t see the sun for a few more months…but it makes me appreciate the spring all the more.

damn those arctic tested gloves. They never seem to hold up. I loooove watching the cardinals in winter. They are like a little gift, to see bright red against the snow.
That formula is hysterical. I’ve never been one for math, so I’ll just stick with “more hot chocolate” when I need to beat the blues. (hot, cold…any chocolate, for that matter)
