Hello My friends! Happy Monday! The weekend flew by for us as usual…. did yours?
We got a lot of snow and enjoyed it very much. I realized I’m a bit of a ‘worry nut’ when it comes to my kid. Yes, I guess I’m ‘that mom’. Rechecking with her if she’s warm enough, saying a hundred ‘are you ok’s when she kept falling off her sled. I need to cool if off a bit, I know. In my own defence, this was our first snow fall that stayed on the ground long enough to let us go down the hill. It’s all new to me – I’m sure I won’t be so panicky next time and I will enjoy it some more ;)
We made some delicious cookies with almond flour (and new ingredient for me). Those were waiting for us when we came back to warm up ofter all that snowy fun along with some hot chocolate. I’ll post all the recipe details later on ;)
Our Christmas tree went down. It’s a little empty without it – I swear I could hear an echo in the living room without it now ;) It was a sad day for my daughter – what do you tell the kids when it has to come down? We explained that the tree needs to go back to the forest and how all the forest animals miss it and that’s where it belongs…. that seemed to work wonders – and she got cheery about it. She sang a made up farewell song for the tree ;)
After bedtime hours, we watched Rabbit Hole – oh my, this is such a wonderful although sad movie…. makes you really appreciate what you have. And I feel such sorrow for families who do have to go through so much pain in their lives. Don’t want to get into the details, if you’re the type that doesn’t want the story line ruined. It is a must see for sure.
I also started this new craft project that I will share with you soon. It has to do with a trip to Value Village to pick up some wool sweaters and then cutting them up! I had too much fun – will share soon – I promise!
So, how was your weekend? I hope you enjoyed some winter fun also. See any interesting movies, did some crafts maybe? I would love to hear about it ;)

we sled a LOT, and I still worry so much. They’re just going SO fast. As for taking down the tree, mygirls never got sad about it coming down, it’s almost as if they feel it has run its course. This year after we took it down we re-arranged our living room, so they thought that was exciting. (truth be told, it WAS kind of exciting. nothing like a little change to freshen things up.)
Happy snow!

I figure my kids will tell me if they’re too cold (possibly in a whiny voice) and I don’t worry about a fall unless the kids start crying!
We just had a snowfall today and were able to roll gigantic snowballs. Hopefully we can go sledding at the park sometime before spring. I’m just not sure how long the snow will stay for or if we’ll get another snowfall though!!!
That’s so sweet that your daughter was singing songs for the tree! I keep the tree up longer than most people do so when we take the tree down we start decorating for Valentine’s!
