my new favourite artist

November 3, 2010 by Ella

I love feeling complete JOY when I look at a real work of art! Don’t you just pause and take it all in….

Well, you’ve already met my favourite artist, even when you didn’t know she possessed such great talents….  As a mom, you totally get this, right? so I don’t need to explain much ;P

Portrait of MOM by Gabriella.
She is 3 years old. Her favourite past time is pretending she’s a pony/pegasus or unicorn and her favourite colour at the moment is purple.
She graduated from the Craft Academy at Rainbow Daycare with honours ; )

Here she is with her bestest friend Ola on a playdate ;)

A House by Gabriella

Do you see that pride in her :) My Girl.  She’s really experimenting with all medium forms, although her faves are the chalk and a ballpoint pen. She’s too cool for crayolas. I need to get her some pastels – I think she would love them.

Not bad for 3 and 2 months right? I am such a typical MOM ;P

Well, you will see the quick progress right now! She pulled this just 2 months ago:

favourite-artist3Silly Girl! This does not mean it won’t happen ever again – it’s still CREATIVE right?
(I will need to say that to myself next time there’s marker on her – to stay CALM ;D

HAPPY DAY EVERYONE!

How do you encourage your kids to get creative? I would love to hear some advise how to challenge her – and me ;)

I have a 3 year old and totally get it – LOVE those early drawings to pieces. I find that the best way to inspire his art is to work on my own along side him. I’ve been using coupons to slowly build up a collection of good quality art materials and we’re just going for it!

Love the drawing; it reminds me of the people my daughter used to draw at that age. I love the marker too. There will be many more incidents believe me, if not on purpose then because she is so into and the color just flies. ;)

How sweet! Me and my friends bring our kids together for art sessions, I find my little one learns a lot working next to the big kids. Have an art Saturday and take turns at different people’s houses!
