monday motivation

September 27, 2010 by Ella

059-Franklin-1440x900It’s a busy time, the start of the week…. ah those Mondays! I though I would start something small but with possible mighty results – MONDAY MOTIVATION! We all need it, don’t we? So after a weekend of kicking back and doing nothing (my apologies IF you DID have to work ;), i though it would be good to get all our ‘eggs aligned’ or get our ‘stars in one basket’, (sorry, just trying to get a smile out of you ;) and get a good Monday on track. A Monday that’s productive, meaningful and leaves us fulfilled at the end of the day – and then the rest of the week. Even simple productivity, like reading to your kids is fantastic productivity. Or, making that call to the client you should follow up with but are delaying it. Or, getting yourself out for a jog or even speed walk! That’s terrific productivity.

Getting a good Monday in will position you in an upbeat ‘I CAN DO THIS’ kind of attitude. So… what are you promising you’ll accomplish TODAY, RIGHT NOW on this lovely MONDAY?
(I suggest to write a list of 5 TO DO THINGS, and try to accomplish ONE today for sure – the rest you can try to accomplish throughout the week, with the deadline being FRIDAY. (I think it’s great to reserve the weekend for ‘the art of doing nothing’)). Good Luck ;)

I WILL:

  1. work on a catalogue for a client
  2. catch up with invoices
  3. change the bed sheets
  4. make an awesome salad
  5. organize and retouch my photos from the weekend

    Work….work….work….work….work :)

And in between my daily job, I hope to:

    – Begin and finish the handbag camera bag I am creating.
    – Pick one room to clean a night so I don’t have to deal with it on the weekends.
    – Cook at least three nice meals this week rather than what can I throw together quickly meals.
    – Continue my quest for a fully organized catalog of all my images.
    – set aside some time each day for me.

Now this is a great idea. I am in the middle of decluttering so I will 1) get 27 items to donate and 27 to recyle out of my basement today
    2) greet a super early Thursday morning with a smile (I am a night owl by nature) 3)make 2 put off phone calls 4) draw some more chickens and 5) knit to 1/2 complete my next gaiter.
Thanks for the motivation! Peace, Angela

Thanks Debbie and Angela. This is a great way to pump up that Monday!

    Great idea!
    1. Finish reading the library book that I am now paying fines on because I’ve reached my renewal limit.
    2. Make chicken and dumplings for dinner.
    3. Go grocery shopping (I can actually check this off my list as I completed this task this morning).
    4. Help my finish the school project about family that has to be handed in this week.
    5. Crochet at least one more square on my stalled blanket project (http://chasingrabbitsdownholes.blogspot.com/2010/09/blog-post.html)

What a great idea. I might adjust it a little and post on my blog about the five activities me and my girls will do this week. Such fun to give the readers a sneak peak! This will also help to keep me focused and motivated.
Hope you get to accomplish your to do this!

I have always been terrible at setting goals, ugh. But, I’m willing to give it a shot. Thanks for the inspiration. Your blog is making positive changes in my life :) (Buckheat Flour,eh? the photo of that cake is too powerful for me to resist)
Thank you for visiting Woodwings during the PM party…..brown hair, brown eyes…your wish is my command.

Ok, It’s Friday and I’m checking in!
I did pretty ok but missed 1 item that was pretty important – it was to do my invoices.
work on a catalogue for a client
    catch up with invoices
    change the bed sheets
    make an awesome salad
organize and retouch my photos from the weekend

That will of course get moved to next week (I’m dreading accepting it already with a passion ;)
I hope everyone completed their lists and had a great week. Now, here’s to a great weekend – as a reward ;)
