or so they were supposed to be…
This morning’s door bell got me excited about something… and Yes, it was a package I long awaited from my little sister from Australia. She is living in Gold Coast for a year and attending university there. I miss my ‘chickpea’ so much and I was very excited to be receiving this:
… it looked cute, but inside it contained this:
with this inside…
Sister, you need a lesson in packaging love letters. I don’t think you’ve ever done it in your life (thanks to modern technology), but it’s a skill worth perfecting ;)
My package was covered in mold – literally the paper was eaten by mold! It was the a love letter I dreaded touching! Sorry honey, let’s just stick to email and gmail video calls ;D
I do appreciate it that you went to all this trouble to buy the gifts and write these letters and then send all this over to the other side of the earth. So thank you, the little kangaroos are in the washing machine right now – so hopefully they will come back to life ;)
There’s something about hand written letters though, don’t you think?
and then you could make something like this…
… or even this gorgeous letter rug (love)

the little list says
oh dear!!! what a mess!

that is so funny. i hope you were still able to read some of it ;)
so what happened?
Ella says
Inside there were little fragments of plants, flowers I suppose – but I guess they weren’t dried completely.
There was also sand with seashells – so maybe they weren’t completely dry… ;)
LAURA says
OH WOW. SO FUNNY.
YES EMAIL TOOK OVER THE SKILL OF SENDING LETTERS ;)
Kasia says
Hahahah just call me Lance Romance– I sent that package at the end of August!!!! It has been with Canada customs since Sept 4th… they were probably doing special investigation and high-tech testing on the foreign material… FLOWERS FROM MY FRONT YARD!!! They were beautiful!! Did the bracelets make it ok?
Ella says
Honey,
What bracelets? If you could do this all over again, I would suggest to flat press the flowers and dry them for at least a month. Otherwise, the moisture will turn to mold – as you now know ;)
We still loved it and LOVE you even more (but just a little ;)
Love letters says
Are these really love letters? you didn’t tell the purpose of these kind of love letters..something new to me. thanks
Abby says
Oh no, that is terrible!
I love those last two ideas though…thanks! x

Oh my gosh! What a bummer. Looks like Skype is the nest option, after all ;)
That lamp is incredible. I hope it motivates her to send more letters, sans still-moist treasures.
