happiness is…

May 7, 2012 by Ella

Happy Monday my sweet friends!
I do hope you had a great weekend filled with sunshine, love and happiness….

It’s a week to pay tributes to our moms for Mother’s Day, and if you’re a mom yourself, to celebrate you – the world’s best mom!

Right now…. happiness for me is…

being a mom
I had a lovely day on saturday spent with my girl
while daddy went for a day of skydiving
I love these days when we don’t rush,
we don’t have a schedule
we just enjoy time going by slowly
we made cookies and just
did nothing but play outside
and talked and danced….
happiness

sunday, was very different
we ended up having a great
impromptu bbq,
with some of the family
it was a first day of the season
that I got to sit on a chair
in the sunshine
and didn’t have to do anything else
happiness

we did tackle yardwork in a big way
and I’m really happy with where it’s going so far
although I’m still painting my thumbs green
I’m excited I replanted my lavender close to our
outdoor dining table,
for that reason that when I sit down
I want a beautiful scent of lavender
to sweep through the air….
happiness

today, is very much a different day
colder, windier, greyer,
one of those ‘real’ mondays
I think people dread!
Oh dear, I hope I’ll pull through
I have a nervous event later in the day
hopefully the stars aligned in my favour…

reflecting on my true happiness inside
helps to get through things….

mother’s day is coming and can’t wait for
this next weekend ahead!

I should call my mom today
just to tell her how much I love her…
send her some ‘happiness’ ;)

Wishing you a lovely week my friends
~ as you reflect on your weekend and day today, do tell…

What is happiness to you right now?

ps. photo on top is of me holding my daughter’s hand on her first beach getaway when she was just shy of her 1st birthday. *love*

      Steffy,
I’m so sorry to hear that you can’t see your grandchild…..but I do hope things will change for you and your daughter… and you’ll be both able to put things behind you and move on and start over…

Motherhood isn’t perfect. Families aren’t perfect (believe me, neither is mine), we all do things with trial and error. We all make mistakes, and your daughter needs to see beyond that, love you and accept you for who you are right now and not the person you were.

Unfortunately it’s not so easy to just ‘fix’ things…. it takes time to heal from our past…..

I hope you will have a chance to try and make her see things differently…. and ‘try’ you should…. somehow to at least communicate and work things out….
Good luck to you my dear… I do hope you will have your biggest wishes come true and be close with your family ;)

      Sending big hugs! xo
      Ella
