floral inspiration

April 5, 2011 by Ella

I’m feeling inspired by this room. I love the neutral background with all the shades and textures of linen with  that pretty addition of pink flowers. I would never admit that I’m a ‘pink’ girl, but secretly I would love to surround my home with pink and fuschia rose and peony prints, photos and motifs. And of course the real fresh cut pink beauties – can’t wait to pick those up from the garden….

I always think of decorating for both sexes, so I’m not overpowering a space with a feminine feel. I do have fun with flowers on the patio though in the summer time ;)

Of course I’m drawn many directions now that I’ve got a blank canvas with a new sofa in my living room. Yup, that’s right, a brand new sofa sectional arrived yesterday! (I will reveal all soon my friends ;)

Do you add floral designs to your space?

Ooooohhhh…I love the inspiration photos too. I’ve always loved pink and green together, and the shades of those colors in your photos is lovely!

I live with a manly-man myself so I keep our decor fairly “neutral” but I do bring in fresh flowers whenever I can and he’s cool with that. :o)

      Gotta love those manly-men, huh?
What we, wives compromise to keep them happy ;)
Which is why I think these flowery cushions are even more appealing – ’cause we know we can’t really have them ;D lol

I dont really have anything floral in our home right now but when I do it is not super girly and there are just touches of it here and there. One of these days I plan on redoing my bathroom (we use separate bathrooms, husband can’t fit in my shower) in something really shabby and girly with lots of ruffles!

Ashley – I think that is every wife’s dream – to have her own bathroom with ruffles ;) I am so jealous!!! And I never though I would care for ruffles but they are so cool now – – how could something so tacky one day be so cool the next ;D

Anyway, Do it! Go girly and fun. Can’t wait to see what you do ;) xo

What a lovely space you have here!
I’m not much of a “pink” gal, but I do love {and grow} pink peonies of all tones.
I’m more of a rural-modern gal. I leave the florals to my mom who pulls them off beautifully in her home. There’s something so wonderfully cozy about soft colors and organic, natural patterns.
