family friday : just lovely

February 18, 2011 by Ella

Today I’m sharing with you highlights from our Valentine’s Day. We thought we don’t really celebrate with lavish gifts etc. but my husband surprised us with cute little bouquets of flowers – and that was a sweet moment.

Our daughter was literally jumping up and down from excitement, exclaiming ‘I never got such beautiful flowers before in my life – this is the best day of my life – purple is my favourite colour” (about her crocuses). We, of course, were bursting from laughter at her theatrical expressions of joy. It was unreal to see her little face (sick and all) light up with so much happiness.

I was also happy from my little bouquet of miniature roses, and the fact that I will be able to (hopefully successfully) plant them in my garden in the spring, along with the purple crocus bulbs. These are the kinds of flowers I love, potted with potential to grow forever in my front yard. I don’t have a great knack for gardening but I will keep my fingers crossed that these will relocate beautifully as soon as the frost comes down.

I also want to share this cute heart craft my daughter did pretty much on her own. She sat with a pair of plastic scissors and cut all the white pieces, then looking at the pile of them said “we should glue them somewhere”. I brought her some white paper as the background and suggested the heart, she did it all from there saying “we still need to decorate more” and ran to get some leftover paperoni pieces and decorated the outside. I only ran the outline of the heart with the glue for her and she carefully glued each piece. She’s quite the artist this little one.

Here’s a bit of FF sharing from last week, this time from The Fairy’s Apprentice, who wrote:

“Today we were godfathers to a great couple”.

Thank you Camelia for visiting and sharing your moment.

What are your highlights from the week? Would they be Valentine’y as well? Please share in the comments and if you’d like you can leave a link if you’ve written about it.

PS. we are having a long-weekend up here! A national Family Day! Hooray. More great news – it is practically a spring day here with +12 degrees. A long walk on the trails is in the works for today. Have a lovely weekend.

PPS. See the top graphic on this page, I designed it so you can save and use along with your photos – another little freebie. This one features a font called Pea Lovey Dovey. (Another one of my favourites.) xo

The flowers are so pretty, and what a perfect time of year to bring a little colour, and reminder that spring is on it’s way, indoors.
Cute craft – she looks so proud!
Thanks for stopping by GroovyMoments :)
