Yum! I love love LOVE hummus! Do you?
It’s super easy and quick and delicious! I love the versatility of hummus too – I love it as a healthy sandwich spread or spread in wraps or a veggie dip.
I make it all the time even for breakfast when there’s not much to put on a sandwich – a nice organic spelt bread with a spread of hummus, spinach leaves and tomato from the garden makes a perfect breakfast or lunch around here…
And making it yourself instead of store-bought is so much cheaper too. Actually anything with beans and home made is cheaper. This is my top secret for eating healthy and not breaking the bank – I eat beans! So much nutrition and so much protein, you could allow yourself to splurge on other things, like buying more organic food perhaps!? You better! ;)
Making homemade hummus is really super easy and quick! So next time you’re entertaining or just need a quick little something for sandwiches – just reach for these few ingredients and get to it!
One of the secret ingredients in making hummus is Tahini – tahini is a sesame paste! Great and healthy as sesames are little gems of nutrition – they also balance out hormones so it’s great to add tahini or sesame seeds everyday to your diet.
Another great factor about tahini is that it keeps well in the fridge. That’s why one jar lasts you about 6 months so this makes it also more economical as you don’t need to go out and buy crazy ingredients just for one use. We always have a jar of tahini in the fridge – it’s just what is a norm around here ;)

I love hummus or hummous! I just don’t know which is the right way to spell! During my travels, hummus is one of the versatile sauces and dips to make because you can easily find the products everywhere (actually not so often in Asia, but you can make your own). I love loads of tahini in my hummus, it provides the creaminess! Miam miam!
