My friends, we’ve just enjoyed a sweet beautiful Sunday afternoon, just us three. The air was warm and fresh, the sights and sounds bright and cheerful and the laughter was contagious…
The high energy kept on. But we knew we had to slow down and just relax a bit. And slow down we did, with the sweetest thing in the world that just melts in your mouth as soft as a cloud :: oh that cotton candy….
It was miss Gabriella’s first bite of the fluffy sugar in her little 3 1/2 year old life – she was in heaven. As for me, I haven’t tasted cotton candy in over 20 years! My gosh, that thing is sweet, and made me completely sick right after. But boy, did it bring back some childhood memories….
Our family would go to these little church festivities in the summer. And there, amongst the little candy and knick knack stands, was the cotton candy booth…. That’s where I remember my little self, standing in the summer breeze and sunshine – taking bites of the ever evil cotton candy, with my mouth and fingers all sugary and sticky….
So my friends, do tell:
So my friends, do tell: What is your sweetest childhood memory?

Hi Ella ~ I’m so far behind reading blogs that I enjoy – just had to stop by and say hello. Gabriella will never be the same now that she’s had a taste of cotton candy! ha! I remember liking it a whole lot better as a child than I do as an adult.
Sweetest childhood memory has to be my Grandma’s coconut cream pie…any of her pies really… ~sigh~
PS: Dirty trick with the April fool’s joke! You got me! :o)

cotton candy…mmmm…love it. i think one of my fave sweet childhood memories is my great aunt’s peach cobbler made with peaches off her tree, homemade whip cream on top – yum!

ah! i always loved cotton candy, but can barely stand it now–SO very sweet.
my “sweet” childhood memory is of summertime walks (at night, which was a treat in itself to be out after dark) to the ice cream shop on Cape Cod. And guess what, we still do that now, with our own girls. And they seem to love it just as much as I did.
