Today is the first full day of Spring. Yeah! Although outside, it’s not very obvious just yet (I’m sure it is for some of you ;) Still, the air is changing, and little new green growth sightings have been noted. Springtime is on it’s way – and I couldn’t be more happy.

Spring, has a clear symbol of new beginnings in the change of the season… with the little buds slowly springing to life and fresh strands of grass peeking through the now softer earth. It’s lovely to slow down and appreciate this beauty – and maybe take this time to reflect a little on how that affects you – your inner being, your emotions, your surroundings.
Perhaps the changes you see outdoors will stir a sense of change in you. Perhaps you could take this time to refresh your priorities in life, regain more energy, become a brand new you…. or something else entirely that could add more happiness to your life.

Simple things can welcome a new beginning.
For me, I would like to create more energy in me – physically and within myself. To do that I am thinking I will need to remove a few obstacles in my way – such as clutter – – and then surround myself with more beauty. Yes, I said it – I think physical and mental clutter has taken over and I need to clear that off to let me see things in a fresh way. Beauty will shine through in the little things around my home; open windows, my daughter’s happy artwork, fresh branch cuttings slowly bursting with buds, a batch of fresh baked muffins sitting as a centrepiece on the kitchen table on a hectic monday morning. And I’m in the mood to update most of my photos in my frames throughout the home to something brighter and happier…
You may be trying some new things as well, like trying to eat healthier, work out more, find more time for your family or just for yourself….

I know what you mean about clutter. I drive everyone crazy with clutter. I intend to spend much more time outdoors when weather permits and try and keep a tidy house and head! x p.s. yes the rug is indeed from Amanda Soule’s book :)

I suffer from seasonal affective disorder, and though the ground is still covered in snow here too, the air has been warmer and the sunshine brighter, and it’s really made a difference in my mood. Now that I’m feeling more like myself again, I’ve also been in the mood for changes. Decluttering is a big one on my list, I feel like I’m drowning in stuff. I also just feel more focused in general to make the steps to reach what I’ve been wanting to do/change for a while… like eat healthier, laugh with my kids more, enjoy more simple things in life. But I agree with you, to do that, I need to declutter first or I won’t be able to do that. Time to fill up some donation boxes!
Happy Spring!

I’m so ready to run outside more! I definitely felt the winter blues and now that spring is here I am energized and ready to go run outside with the littles. :-)

Ella ~ This is such a beautifully written post. I’m so impressed by you. I love your credo for welcoming a new beginning! Even down to changing photos from frames. It’s all perfect feng shui principles and I don’t know if you follow that specifically, or if you are just awesomely intutitive.
I’m feeling the need to clean out a few closets very soon! Thanks for the inspiration! xo

getting rid of clutter and surrounding yourself in beauty sounds like a plan to me. But GOD the clutter, it’s such a project. I get rid of SO MUCH yet, somehow, my house is till full. There’s hope yet for space and beauty in my house too :)
