Hello and welcome to Day 21 of the Cut the Sugar Challenge
– today is the very last day! Yay!!
Congratulations for coming this far in cutting out sugar! :)
How are you doing with less sugar in your life? Are you more mindful of the sugar intake and avoiding refined sugars? Are you now looking at the quality AND quantity of sugar sources to soothe your sweet tooth? Are you now more aware about the influence of other foods that have over your sugar cravings and how it’s not all about willpower? I hope all these daily challenges have been very helpful… if so, keep going! You are building happy & health sugar habits for life!
Today is a really fun challenge – we’re getting up off our butts and moving our bodies!
There’s only one way to truly lower your blood sugar once you’ve already eaten too much carbohydrates – and did you know it’s with physical activity?
That’s right – any form of exercise whether it’s going to the gym and sweating it out with weight training, going for a run, going for a walk around the block OR dancing in your kitchen – all are amazing and fun ways to move your body!
The only rule of thumb is that it should be within 2 hours after you eat carbohydrates and/ or sugar! The physical activity you do after you eat sugar will help to break down those calories and this will not only reduce your blood sugar but it also won’t strain your pancreas and liver – preventing diabetes and many health issues in the long run!!
There are so many benefits in moving your body! Any physical activity is great for your health and wellbeing – it tones the body, strengthens muscles and bones, promotes healthy brain function and healthy blood circulation and so much more. AND it reduces blood sugar too! This helps to prevent diabetes and keep your health in check to prevent all kinds of health problems down the road.
We all have to move our body – it’s a basic need all living organisms must include in their life.
Yet, it’s so common for so many people to sit hours straight at their computer desks or hours straight on their sofa watching tv.
So I could get into a million more reasons why it’s important to get up and move your body right now – or I could just dare you to dance right now! Double dare you to this song!
For today’s challenge, do this : create a habit that after each meal you go out for a walk by yourself or with your family OR dance dance dance in your living room! It’s super fun and after a few days you will LOVE this new habit!! Plus you’ll keep your blood sugar in check! :)
What not to do? Eat sugar or any carbohydrates and sit at your desk or couch!!!!!!!
So since this is our last day of the 21 Day Cut the Sugar Challenge – that’s another reason to DANCE! :)
I hope you’ve enjoyed this so much. Thank you all for participating and sharing your stories – let’s keep going and motivating each other to live healthier and happier!
