celebrating

July 4, 2011 by Ella

Hello July! What a great way to kick off the summer with a national holiday, right? Canada Day for us (and coming close – July 4th for my friends across the border.) What a weekend – right??? I hope you had fun and maybe you’re still enjoying this beautiful long weekend ;)

We went for a little trip to Niagara Falls – seriously the best place to be on a huge event that has fireworks. Awesome! What a vibe in this city and so much fun for everyone. Really, it’s for dating couples, honeymooners, parents with or without kids, and just about anyone whether you’re a biker or family type. It’s just a cool place. You can tell this was my first time at the Canada Day celebrations in Niagara Falls – I wish we came by years earlier. It was so cool! The crowds were insane!

Our photos don’t do it justice. But the fireworks display was really impressive. Miss Gabi had the best time and gained a huge dose of energy right before the show – and thankfully fell asleep in the stroller on our way home to grandma’s. We still came out to the city late (so thankful we had a babysitter ;) and it was well past midnight when we dined in style. Me eating a Pad Thai take out and the Mr. having a Big Mac at the MacDonald’s restaurant – but right by a sweet fireplace. Stylish and romantic. Nice ;)

So how did you celebrate??? Or, are you still celebrating???

Leave a link to your partying in the comments – so we can all check things out on your end!!!!

Have a lovely Day! Happy 4th of July!!!

Sounds like it was a blast! Our Canada day was really laid back. Most my friends were out of town, so it was just the kids and I and there wasn’t much going on in our town. But the kids managed to stay awake till 11pm, so we got to go watch the Canada day fireworks for the first time. (I say first time because their usual bed times are around 7, and they could never stay awake long enough). We just sat on the grass, got eaten by mosquitoes, oh-ed and ah-ed, and it was just perfect! :)

Thanks Stephanie. Your evening sounds nice too – minus the mosquito bites ;(
And oh gosh I am completely jealous of your kids’ sleep times! Seriously – 7 ????? That is amazing ;)

I love Niagara Falls! And that picture of you and your girl looking out on the falls is pretty sweet. :) We were on a ranch in Kansas, doing some exploring, then went back to my husband’s hometown for a fireworks show!

Your holiday looks like so much fun. We celebrated july 4th on Cape Cod with glorious crowds, sun, beach, sea, fireworks, ice cream.
    As it should be :)
