Hello my sweet friends!
Remember the Coke bottles I upcycled for hanging vases here – well they have a new life yet again… I don’t think I will ever tire of them and to think they were trash! So this pretty little bundle is dressing up my kitchen wall right now. It’s brightening up my day….
I kind of need some brightening up because I will soon kiss my husband goodbye as he stands with a suitcase packed up, his passport and a plane ticket in hand. He’s going to Europe for a a few weeks to visit family and take care of some business. I will miss him so much. And as the days get close for his departure, we add more sweet words to each other during regular conversation. That is sweet and I hope it will stick around. (we are usually not the sweet-talking-holding-hands kind of a pair ;D So this is a sweet treat indeed! We also discuss his life insurance and plans ‘what if’ when he ends up falling from the sky and won’t make it – no not during his flight – but when he sky dives. Um… yes, a sky diving trip is scheduled in his activities! He’s Crazy ;)
Sweet talking isn’t all he’s doing. In the last few weeks, he’s painted our living room, my home office, walks around with the power drill asking me ‘what else do I want done’ – I am kind of laughing over this. His guilt is driving him to do things he never wanted to do and I LOVE IT! A girl could get used to this and I may just be urging him to travel a bit more often.
With his trip take off happening in a few days, I kind of am getting busy myself. I have lots of gifts to buy or make for his family and we still want to squeeze in some projects that involve the power drill (since he’s in the mood ;), and then there is the one thing we are definitely NOT in the mood for – which is doing taxes – – but I’m sure there will be other things we will be in the mood for ;) wink wink
So my friends, you know where this is going. I need a break. A little time out from blogging. I will come back as soon as I send off my handsome husband off to his awesome vacation (just a tad jealous – but I’m sure I’ll be fine.) There is a ton of things I want to take care of with my ‘me’ time. Rest, watch a bunch of chick flicks, tend to my close to 9000 emails (and that’s just from one email account), organize my photos, get a few craft and sewing jobs done, and just have a lovely mommy-daughter time during the day. I do hope work life will stay manageable – there is always grandma to help.
By the way, I should mention that if you like coming to this little corner of my world – there is something awesome you could do. You could nominate me for the Canadian Weblog Awards! It’s just a little one time entry and then it’s done and out of your hair and out of my hands. And anyone from anywhere in the world can submit a nomination. If you are considering this – well, than THANK YOU in advance! You can find the form here.

What brightens my days are my kids, without a doubt. I’m going through a difficult time right now and I find they have been my rock, just by being around me, they make me feel better. I really love your magnolia prints, they are so pretty and the message really resonates with me right now :)

Your coke bottle vases are beautiful. Forsythia is such a wonderful “brightener”. We have loads of it blooming outside right now and I love the yellow of it against the blue sky. Lovely!
Ella says
Forsythia, thank you! that’s what they are called.
I just referred to them as the-first-yellow-flowers-blooming-on-bushes ;)
