my first poll : black and white or colour?

February 2, 2012 by Ella

Hello! I think I’ve found the antidote to winter blues! I’ve left clues throughout the week, I hope you picked up on them;)  I think it all started with those gorgeous tulips on a dreary winter day and my life hasn’t been the same since. I’ve just been moving a few things around, just for fun, because I like to change things up – hence the reason why I still have nothing on the walls. But that’s another whole therapy session on this blog, so I’ll save it for another day.

Right now I just need a quick show of hands (or better yet – a click on a poll!) what you my trusted friends think I should go with.

(By the way, this polling thing was not working for me which is why my thursday post got delayed so much ;(. (I sometimes wonder why I do this blog anyway – I do not like codes/ computers and anything technological – except for google, facebook and pinterest).

Home office/ guest room daybed with antique dresser in:

Black & White

or

Colour

(It’s cropped in just a bit, and I brought in my coffee table that was temporarily moved into the living room for Christmas and added colour!)

I’ve been having a colour-transformation happening in my life. Yes, I’ve also pulled out a bit of green and a bit of blue from my closet to wear. And I kid you not, I got the cutest knitted dress at the thrift store – in yellow. Yes!

Here in my home office/ guest room (the desk is on the other side of the room) I have pulled all kinds of colourful cushions from around the house I already had, a few I had in the basement closet, unused, and one I picked up on sale for $15 bucks. If you’ve been wondering if I sewed any of them, I must be honest and admit that I didn’t. I would love to one day sew up cushions that would reach my ceiling but that will have to wait.

Remember my outcry about my commitment issues. I am not kidding – I cannot pull myself together and hang any frames on my walls! What is with me? Someone please come over with a box of nails, a hammer and a bottle of wine – and let’s hang for a while ;)

Here’s the truth. I kind of like just the black and white. But I need to make a decision if it should stay black and white or with the colour before I hang my frames and artwork up above. So here’s where you come in. Please vote:

I am sure at a point in my life I would have picked black and white, but at this moment, I have to say, the colour room is my fav. It just looks so inviting!

I am also craving colour lately, I am so ready for spring. But in the mean time, I might “copy” you a bit and just try to brighten my home and wardrobe ;)

Now if the wall was painted oh say a lovely blue color I just may have gone with it but I really like the color picture better. I am more of a color type girl as is our house.

Thanks Ashley, I am strongly leaning for colour myself now ;)

Ella, I know you said you were leaning toward the black and white, but you did ask for a vote. I really like the color as I think black and white gets a little old real quick.
I can’t wait to see the final decision.
    Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks Tracey, I love the colour now too – but sometimes I do think that it’s the black and white that doesn’t get old. It’s like the little black dress that always looks fresh. I think that’s what messes with me. But it’s exciting nonetheless ~ oh and so much fun to redecorate ;) xo
Have a great weekend too! xo

I’m a sucker for black and white but the color looks kind of fun. I get what you said about the black and white never being outdated. I say if you choose the black and white(again I do love it) paint the wall a different color or just add a few pops of color into the pillows and as accents.
