a sweet birthday

September 20, 2012 by Ella

I had a lovely day yesterday, on my B-Day! Thank you all for sending in your sweet wishes.

I wore a My Little Pony t-shirt my daughter gave me the same morning. Must say it was awesome having unicorn powers for that whole day. I paired it up with my thrifted skinny jeans and sparkly purple ballerina shoes. Because just so you know, unicorns and sparkles go together ;) A little bird told me the top is from WalMart – not so exciting but it is a fun flashback to the 80’s, a top that will now be passed down to my daughter – as per her sweet request. ;)

In the kitchen, the mr. was busy making all the food. Yes. All. He’s cool like that and he was looking very sexy sporting his kinky apron ;) He made these awesome nut+onion+bean cakes that were *the best* thing I’ve ever eaten! I will work my unicorn magic now to get my hands on the recipe. I’ll let you know if I have any success ;)

Bunner’s Bakery was the highlight for all our gluten-free and vegan desserts. I *finally* had a cake and cupcakes I could eat and not have to bake (although I do love to bake and can’t wait to whip up something yummy soon). What a delicious treat this was. Everything was so good and purely magical. On the last pic, I’m totally goofing around with a little amaretto in my chocolate mint tea. I do watch what I eat and I don’t really drink – just occasionally just a bit – it was my birthday after all;)

This was a sweet small birthday shared with my family. I do love and treasure those little special times the most. I’m lucky to have all these lovely people in my life. (including you) ♥
