A lovely weekend
filled with family and friends
we threw a large bbq dinner
my husband: the king of the grill
made incredible food all on the bbq. Yum!
It was great to see more of the hubby’s side of the family
mine is over all the time – they just drop in uninvited
but this was nice to plan and meet up
so many stories
so many laughs
so much food
all out under the big maple trees in our backyard
Happiness!

My happiness
is all about choosing the best moments
and savouring the day in a positive way.
It’s about Choosing Happiness.
Life is not all perfect here and I don’t want you to think it is.
I choose to see happiness in my life.
I choose the words I write here,
just as I try to choose better words to say out loud.
I’m a complete work in progress.
From the inside to the outside.
“The key to happiness is inside me”.
Do you choose happiness too?
Here’s a beautiful song for you (and me) for this beautiful Monday : Nobody’s Perfect.
friendship
tackling chores over the weekend
getting a good chunk of yard work done
(but there’s still lots to be done)
realizing how gardening is such a workout
that is a good thing ;)
plus just being in all that fresh air is invigorating
energizing

seeing my friend again (an old neighbour who moved away)
and catching up
watching our kids play out in the yard
there was digging for treasure, playing ‘trees’
and our first bonfire of the season was lit
really only to warm up at daytime
but marshmallows were made
and that cottage feel at home was born
then we picked things up again once the kids were in bed
and stayed up late with our friends
just talking the night away
ps. I just realized through the photos that we totally
dressed in same tones as though we’d plan it ;)

sunday we started with fluffy spelt pancakes
then went straight into yard work
my daughter was very busy nearby
collecting sticks
for dogs
which she then sold in her
‘dog-stick shop’ : her first business!
calling out into the street
‘dog sticks for sale’!
what an entrepreneurial mind she already has ;)
she added dandelion flowers to it
when I told her not everyone has dogs
this was of course, all her own idea ;)
cuteeee! she made 2 sales ;)

i must add that happiness
for me lately is really getting into
a working out mood!
I am on a roll (to beat my rolls) lol
and just seriously doing it
dumpbells, cardio,
even just dancing…..
i am feeling amazing
kind-of-fit
beautiful and strong….
oh so strong!
These of course are lyrics to the lovely song ‘Who says’ by Selena Gomez…. a nice tune, I think to kick of this lovely Monday morning ;) xo Wishing you a fantastic week ahead!!!

Hello my friends! I hope you had a nice long weekend ~ whether you celebrated Easter or not ;) If you did, I hope it was a lovely time spent with your close ones in love and happiness.
a happy easter
family time
great food – I came prepared this time ;)
laughing and dancing
relaxing on the other days
baking & crafting
doing some crazy yard work with no symptoms of MG
seriously! I’m jumping for joy right now
enjoying the first words my daughter reads out loud
being so very proud of this little lady
being so happy I get to raise her while working from home
just finished a couple big jobs (hence the late post)
and a whole lot of relief came in that moment something gets done
love that moment of great satisfaction
next on my ‘to do’ list is a custom design job for a wedding!
yes, this is so exciting!
I love weddings and if I could I would marry every year, to the same man of course ;)
so this will be loads of fun ~ off I go
balancing it all
someone once asked how I do it all?
~ will let you know when I have the answer
oh, and the mr. jumped off a plane!
that is NOT happiness in my book
~ but I’m learning to accept his new crazy hobby!?!?
.
aside from these things, I’m really enjoying Elie Goulding lately…. here’s ‘your song’:
Well Hello my friends on this rough Monday morning ;) If you just enjoyed a March or Spring break – I think we can all agree it’s a little ‘rough’ to carry on with this Monday, right? So for this reason…. I’m diving deep inside to search out some ‘happiness’…. but secretly wishing we still had just one more day of a lazy day starting with a sleep-in morning…..
Oh, let’s shake off these thoughts, now shall we? Back to reality. Back to our Monday. Let’s hope it’s a good one ;)
true happiness really lately is our weather
so warm and sunny in march. hello is it really march?
we’ve had a great week and a fun weekend,
who can complain….
we went to a maple syrup festival yesterday
this was the first time I learned about sap and maples and the whole process,
sorry, I’m very ‘new’ to lots and kind of discovering things through being a mom or blogging – somehow, these two are the stepping stones to new knowledge ;)
it was good times seeing my whole family and having a great dinner at my sister’s impromptu
my sweet nephew is starting to use his words and there’s a lot of ‘i wuv youuu’s’ coming from him, which is true Happiness, right there in that moment when his big little eyes look up at you
i made a great st. patty’s lunch which I will share with you tomorrow, yummm
right now, I’m enjoying the quiet house
kind of enjoying that the week will get it’s own rhythm again
one that we’re used to and create a certain ‘system’ that keeps our minds and bodies busy
i’m hearing the dehydrator buzzing in the kitchen, making yummy crispy apple slices
i’m sipping my green tea with fresh ginger
i’m still in pyjamas…..
almost ready for the day
i can see the sun is also having a lazy day
as it’s just softly peeking its head out through the bare trees
i think it will be a ‘happy’ day after all
as soon as I try to shake off this dreadful arson news of our beautiful playground in TO ;(
leaving you with a lovely song… (I always try to entertain you in more than one way, don’t i?) it’s by Royksopp – a Swedish beautiful talent…. enjoy ‘What else is there?’ (sorry it’s not a very happy song with a capital C – but really beautiful)
Happy Monday!
.
ps. my apologies if my site is not opening for you… apparently there’s been some technical difficulties – I hate technology sometimes – but if it wasn’t thanks to technology ‘we’ wouldn’t be here ;D xo Ella
Come back tomorrow for a belated St. Patty’s feast! A feast I tell you. Filled with 3 original vegan recipes – wheat-free too! See you then ;)
