winter-wrap-scarf easy knitting

I’ve been working on this new scarf lately with the two knitting stitches I know ;)  (hey we’re not all Amanda Soules here – lol).
As I was close to finishing it I realized just how boring this plain scarf was looking… I said ‘girl, you need to add some DRAMA here or this won’t pull of as your own work’! Right then, I knew what to do! My stitches may be plain (lack of time gets in the way of my knitting expertise ;(  but the scarf doesn’t have to be plain….

winter-wrap-scarf2To my basic knitted scarf, I added strands of equal amount to one full side and the edges. To do that you need to loop around a long strand in the center and pull, measure out equal distances and add your first row of knots in. Then, you split that strand into two equal parts, and tie together with the next one over, do that all around to create your second row. Continue with the same technique to create your third row. The edges only have 2 knotted rows.
Let me know if this explains it well, when I was finishing it it was late and I didn’t have a photographer to snap a few ;)

winter-wrap-scarf3 easy knittingSo there it is, my new fall and winter accessory! It’s such simple knitting but with a WOW factor in the end ;)  So if you’re not a savvy knitter, kinda-like-me, but you still want to CREATE your own masterpiece – this is the way to do it! Eventually, we wanna-be-SouleMama‘s will catch up to the starlet, but for now…. we IMPROVISE!!!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day today. I hope it’s another sunny one – it’s too early to tell this early…. I’m off to make my morning tea and have it with the leftover pumpkin muffin. Then I’ll try to go for a little stroll around the block with my little pumpkin, to secretly do a runway catwalk in my new winter wrap….

Stay Warm and be Happy!

PS. my pumpkin love post is featured today on i made it so, go check out Ana’s lovely blog ;)

We recently got together with my husband’s aunt Kate, who is such an artist in everything she does. Expert knitter, jewellery maker, and I’m sure there are many more crafty talents hidden up her ‘hand-made’ sleeve.

She had this beautiful gift for my little Gabriella. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.IMG_4844 sm knitted seaterOn this picture, I asked her to lower her head to show off the flower on the hat. Look how cute she is with this funny face while eating her home made shortbread cookie. recipe here.IMG_4845 knitted seater hat set spring
