The wedding cake was simple and elegant. My mom was the creator of this masterpiece along with my oldest sister who helped in decorating and to keep my mom calm through the process. I can’t remember the recipe, don’t even remember if I had a piece of my own wedding cake – for that matter (other than a piece of the fondant that my new husband hand fed to me ;P) Yes, it was just a piece of that sugary fondant. I suppose I could look at it as a promising taste for a SWEET life ahead ;D

I wanted something classic and not-too-cute for the cake. With all that PINK everywhere I didn’t want to go overboard. I took inspiration from nature – the garden – ok. plus some magazines. I sketched the design for my mom and just kept my fingers crossed that it would all turn out great. I was happily surprised on the BIG DAY to see it all looking lovely. Thanks mom for the best gift a daughter could ask for – it sure was SWEET of you ;D

For the Flower Bouquets, I actually worked with a professional florist. You can’t do it all ;P  I just didn’t know that peonies would still bloom at the end of June – if I only had that guarantee – well you know what I would DO. I was happy with them – how can you not be with Peonies at a June wedding.
