from our hearts to yours

Remember these cute little heart-shaped decorations we’ve made. Well, as promised, here are more ideas. I’ve made an adorable chalk-board painted message board and a set of magnets. Some we still have left to give away as gifts (just left alone looking beautiful).

This batch I painted to a crisp white for a slightly different look, a little smoother and more modern. The pressed-in designs look even better with the tone-on-tone. I was really happy with them. This is what you do to make a…

CHALK-BOARD PAINTED MESSAGE BOARD:

To do this, it’s pretty simple.

Step 1: Paint the hearts to the colour you want.

Stop 2: Paint a wooden board in chalk board paint. I used an extra shelf I had from a bookcase I wasn’t using that is about 12″ x 17″. But you can make it any size you need. To paint, follow the directions on the packaging. You will need the extra time to do this.

Stop 3: Hot glue or use velcro strips on the back of your hearts to secure them to the board. I used velcro because I think I will want to change the look one day and my decorations/ cookies were very dry and they stuck well. Use the hot glue gun for a more permanent hold.

HEART-SHAPED MAGNETS:

Step 1: (and only one) use a hot glue gun to glue craft magnets on the back.

You’re ready to display your favourite art pieces or your love notes on the fridge! Yeah ;)

I have become a huge fan of salt dough decorations. It is so inexpensive (like $1-$2) to make them. Seriously. And the sky is the limit as to what you could do ;)

Have fun making some cute stuff. Don’t forget to share what you’ve done ;)
