Hello to October, the month of cancer awareness. Today, I won’t get into a huge write up but post just a few brilliant tools that are out there just in case you’ve been affected by cancer – a friend or family member or (hopefully not) you personally. It’s good to know these things or know of them so when the need arises you know which rocks to turn.
First up, I can’t say it often enough – Kris Carr is a cancer warrior! She is crazy and sexy ~ and living with cancer – but she’s NOT sick! There’s two books by her that I have to recommend, one with specifics pertaining to cancer and one with general guidelines to defeat or better yet prevent ANY disease – like Myasthenia Gravis (the misery card I was dealt with) perhaps???

Two fantastic ladies Kris Carr and Suzanne Somers - seems like they share a similar passion of wellness and prevention and healing of cancer and other foreign invaders.
I think it’s in our best interest to educate ourselves in how to live healthy, long and happy lives. Diet and lifestyle sure plays a clear role in how our health will turn out, aside from genetic predisposition.
Finally, everyone is talking about healthier meals and healthier lifestyle choices. It’s not so cool to smoke anymore around where I live ;) And products on the shelves of our grocery store are getting better – although some may appear better. (don’t get fooled ~ a post about that coming up) There’s still a lot to learn. These great books by these inspiring ladies are a great start.

not a fun topic, and you are so right that staying informed and making healthy choices is something we need to keep in mind as we go about our lives. it’s sad that we are reminded too often about cancer, as it touches so many people.
a friend of mine lost her husband (and father to their 3 children) to cancer a couple of years ago. she is participating in the ‘light the night’ walk this year — and has every year — to raise funds for cancer research. so she is on my mind today and your posts on this topic have been very timely.

I LOVED Crazy Sexy Diet!! One day I will eventually do a cleanse, but as I am breastfeeding, I don’t think I could drink enough juice to keep us both fed!
Not sure where you are located, but I am in Colorado and the state is “smoke free” in public places now. I hate winter here, but I don’t think I could ever move back to a state that allows smoking in public areas!
