Thinking, Reflecting, Absorbing, Reminiscing ~ about 2011 feels like a dream. I suppose I’m a girl that gets stuck in denial for a bit, possibly in hopes that I will have some power over time standing still. I will most likely write 2011 on cheques and my notes for most of the year and will most likely double, even triple check the date that’s on the calendar. Oh yes, but first I have to buy one for this crazy new year ~ can you pick up on the denial ~ the girl doesn’t even have a calendar out for the new year and it’s the 3rd of January already! Yup, that’s me.
So with the thinking, reflecting, absorbing and reminiscing, I do have to say that 2011 was a pretty good year for me. To feel the full scope of the experiences, emotions and lessons learned, I have summed up all of 2011 in eleven things from 2011! Enjoy a look back to my year that I….
a restyled cardigan
maracas
heart cookie decorations
heart magnets and chalkboard
a speech bubble photo prop
upcycled pop bottle vases
a spring flower wreath
decoupage drawer handles for my daughter’s desk
a coffee mug for daddy
a recycled paper mask
a salt-dough upcycled bottle vase
a faux fur stocking
product showcases,
a fun photoshoot,
my photography website: pure love captured . com,
how to reduce stress,
the health benefits of pomegranates,
how to clean ‘green’,
to put my pride aside and go patch things up with a friend
to stay focused on my diet ~ although several struggling events took place in 2011 – nothing more than a test, I suppose ;)
home-made masks and scrubs,
leek & squash puree that hubby made,
persimmons for the first time,
cleaning out the storage room (tried but did not succeed ;( maybe this year! ;)
this day with my girl

a self-portrait session
our first apple picking trip
all vegan and gluten-free:
heart cookies,
muffins,
pesto pasta,
a peachy tofu breakfast,
more muffins (spiced apple this time),
spiced dessert balls,
pumpkin pie,
a sweet potato and lentil casserole,
and lots more daily that I just can’t squeeze on this blog ;)
my daughter reading her first words,
my first car crash,
my daughter’s first real haircut (this was a bigger deal than it sounds now ;),
the ups and downs of my health
a house that may never be completely clean
slowing down and tuning in with my body and mind
when a playdate went wrong,
when I came home with too many books,
when my daughter’s room won the International Finalist title on Ohdeedoh,
on my daughter’s first day of kindergarten,
on my birthday,
when our living room was published in a magazine,
my little sister surprised us by coming home from Australia
going to our local ‘disney world’,
throwing a fun playdate with a little photo session,
seeing the joy on my baby’s face with her first real fireworks display,
the beach,
getting our old kitchen redone,

I love this post! You have certainly had a wonderful and full year.
So glad you stopped by for a visit! My goal was because I could stay inside for days and never go outside, having written this goal down makes me go outside! I am always thankful when I do so it’s a good thing.
